Jackson reportedly suffered a heart attack around 5 p.m. Eastern time (-0500). By 6:30 p.m., the king of pop was dead at 50.

Farrah Fawcett, the sex symbol from the 1970s, has died after a battle with cancer, her publicist said. She was 62.
Looking back at the 1970s, oh, around 1975 to 1979 or so, I fondly remember my pre-teen years when my hormones raged out of control. I think it had to do something with the almost life-size poster that hung over my desk of Farrah, shown at left, which clearly showed cleavage and the actress’ hard nipples. Prior to the 2008 U.S. Presidential election, CNN was a network, seemingly enough, in support of building a Texas-Mexico fence. Now, though, with President Barack Obama in office, CNN could care less, it seems, about the fence.
There are two stories on CNN that I read this morning, Teen made $50,000 smuggling drugs across border and El Paso school a haven along violent border, both seemingly take a sympathetic eye to problems many Mexicans face.

I find it sad, repulsive, underhanded, and even pathetic, that the “Congressional Hispanic Caucus” would send President Barack Obama – or any sitting U.S. President – a letter encouraging the president to select a specific type of person as candidate for the soon-to-be-open U.S. Supreme Court.
Now that U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter has announced his retirement, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus wrote Obama to encourage him to consider a “qualified Hispanic legal professional” for the nation’s highest court.

Back in the 1980s and 1990s, the term “going postal” was coined following several stressed postal workers who burst into postal facilities and gunned down customers and co-workers. The definition, though, seems to be changing in a bad economy.
Postal officials say a Michigan postal worker has confessed to swiping around $20,000 worth of first-class postage stamps since last September.
