Just for Ed

March 24th, 2007

Here’s a great plan — the Business plan — that I would suggest you consider using. I use a few of those, and right now, for $7.49 a month, how many of those plans could you get for the price you’re paying at your current host? If my memory serves correct, somewhere around 9-1/2 packages.

PDF creation is best left to Adobe … for future profitability

March 19th, 2007

There is no way Adobe can argue any stance other than the economic one. Why? Because the PDF standard is available for anyone, and too many people have too many tools out there, which Adobe seemingly reserves the right to deny use of the PDF format to any new creator it wants, i.e., MS in this case.

Are pre-paid cell phone plans for you?

March 12th, 2007

Do you use a cell phone enough to warrant a one- or two-year cell phone contract? Do you have the extra money to lay out for a cell phone plan, especially a plan that would charge high rates (basically, penalties, is what it comes down to) if you go over the plan’s allotted time?

Barbie bandits need a long time in prison

March 6th, 2007

Various media outlets are reporting that Joy Miller, the mother of a 19-year-old woman arrested in Georgia for a bank heist, has read a confession for her dear daughter. Apparently, the kid is publicly confessing to the heists. That means there is no option for her defense attorney to say, “Prove it was my client.”

Anyway, Joy Miller says her daughter isn’t a bandit, and, you see, she is trying to making things all better, like a good mommy, by waving her hand and saying that her daughter just fell in with the wrong crowd and made a bad choice.

Additionally, 43 percent say that daytime sleepiness interferes with their daily activities, according to a new poll released today by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF). Women’s lack of sleep affects virtually every aspect of their time-pressed lives, leaving them late for work, stressed out, too tired for sex and little time for their friends.

March is Boycott the RIAA Month

March 3rd, 2007

According to Gizmodo, today begins boycott the RIAA month. It was even good enough to put together a manifesto against the RIAA. I think it is a great idea. I thought I might share with you why I think so and give a few thoughts on how to do so.

Blacks killing blacks in Philly

March 1st, 2007

If you pay attention to CNN, the city of Philadelphia, known as the “City of Brotherly Love,” some in the city are calling it the “City of Brotherly Hate.” The people giving it that name may be the ones who recently attended a rally at the Community College of Philadelphia, though.

One of the speakers, identified as Dorothy Speight Johnson, of Mothers in Charge, said he son was gunned down for parking in someone else’s parking spot. See, here in Philadelphia there is very little assigned parking, so this had to be a turf/gang thing. Johnson, speaking at the gathering, which was filmed by CNN, said her son had been shot seven times for that parking spot.
