Nobody would live in England if they had a choice

November 24th, 2008

It’s coming up on Thanksgiving, a time of year when many people rush about, buying turkeys, cranberry sauce, and all the other fixings — or maybe some of the fake/faux turkey, called tofurkey, some crazy combination of tofu and turkey (and God only knows what else!).

Many people ponder about the things which they have to be thankful for this year. Some will be thankful for a job, others that they have no lost their home, and others, well, they will be thankful that they’ve not had anyone in uniform knock on their door to offer them the President’s sincerest sympathies and deep regret that a family member gave their life serving in the armed forces of the United States.

Hispanics don’t want immigration laws enforced, study finds

November 23rd, 2008

The Pew Hispanic Center, one of the Pew Research organizations, released a report back in September that I just came across as a result of re-reading a quote from back in 2000 from Bill Richardson.

The study, with a summary published on the Pew Hispanic Center’s site under the headline, “Hispanics See Their Situation in U.S. Deteriorating; Oppose Key Immigration Enforcement Measures”, seems to point out, without stating the fact, that the majority of people interviewed for opinions for the study were illegal aliens from Mexico or other Central or South American country.

In Northeast Philadelphia, poll watchers are told they are not appropriate

November 4th, 2008

What was the debate about? Something incredibly stupid: If a poll watcher, with a certified certificate from the City of Philadelphia, allowed the gentleman to be in the actual voting area or if he had to “step back 100-to-150 feet. Because the debate was getting more interesting the longer I listened, I pulled up a chair, pulled out my cell phone, and snapped a few photos. At the right, you see the poll watcher — the man with the gray, long hair — being tag-team debated and challenged about his “appropriateness” of being in the polling area.

My primary concern and reason for my actions were to ensure my vote — as well as the votes of all other citizens in my area — really do count, are counted, and all things at the polling place are handled legally and ethically. For those reasons, I did call the Philadelphia District Attorney Voting Complaints Hotline. The District Attorney’s office, obviously, has legal jurisdiction over all polling place, including committee person’s with too big of an ego and too little background on dealing with poll watchers (not to mention voters).

If elections could really create change …

November 4th, 2008

If elections, or rather the end result of elections, could create change, especially the kind of change that a couple of politicians, especially one who’s grossly inexperienced, do you think you, as a citizen, would have a say?

Think about it for a second: if you could really cause a positive (or negative) impact on the future of the country, do you think American citizens would have the right to speak their mind about the outcome, let alone participate in the process?

Obama campaign spoofs Caller I.D. for phone harassment

November 3rd, 2008

Over the past few weeks, at least once a day, but more often three-to-five times a day, I have been receiving harassing calls from none other than Barry O. — good ol’ Barack Obama. While none are personal calls from the candidate himself, they are his recorded voice, and in a few of the calls, someone else.

To get elected as President of the United States of America, however, Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Party, overall, seems to have no issue with stepping into less-than-honorable, dishonest tactics to get calls to people’s homes. In fact, if you’re fortunate enough to use a voice-over Internet protocol (VoIP) provider, such as I do, you may have the option to block almost any number from calling your phone number. Therein lies the problem: you cannot block the number Barack Obama’s campaign is using to make calls now, in the final days of the campaign.

Obama camp cranks up mean machine; seeks to hog-tie free speech

October 29th, 2008

The Republican National Trust PAC sent out an alert today that the camp of Senator Barack Hussein Obama has cranked up the mean machine, working overtime to make fellow senator John McCain look bad.

In the alert, the Republican National Trust PAC said this is “one of the most vicious assaults ever waged on the Republican party by the liberal media establishment.”
