A stroll down pre-tech memory lane

September 23rd, 2008

Long before cell phones, MP3 players, CDs and DVDs, laptops, and home theaters, life was simple. There were wax records that were played on record players; notebooks and steno books for taking notes; and black-and-white television and the dear old radio, especially the ever-popular AM stations!

Gone are the days of some of the simple pleasures many of us enjoyed.

Signs the office air conditioner is working overtime

September 21st, 2008

How do you know the air conditioning at work, in the local department store, in your favorite grocery store, or anywhere else, is working a little too well? That’s easy! Check nature’s finest thermometers and see if it’s nipply.

Is nipply always an accurate gauge of the air conditioning. In my feeble thing, until this morning, it was the only gauge of the breast, um, best temperatures.

Double rainbow over Northeast Philadelphia

August 10th, 2008

A string of thunder storms, some producing hail two inches in width, blew through the Delaware Valley today, starting around noon or so, at least in the Far Northeast Philadelphia section of town. It was a storm in the evening that made me stand in awe.

Like many people, I am a sucker for rainbows. Maybe it has something to do with some stories I heard many years ago from an elder Cherokee who has since passed. Maybe it’s because a rainbow is simply beautiful and awesome in its own right. No matter what, they are something fascinating.

99 words for boobs?!

August 9th, 2008

I was browsing through YouTube and came across an original, interesting, and hilarious video created Dan Saul Knight Productions, with the video’s song sung by Robert Lund.

The video is called 99 words for boobs and deals with 99 words you and I and everyone else either use or hear every day, but in this video, the words have that sexy, delicious, sweet, soft, luscious meaning. Ah, all better. Had to clear some melons, er, thoughts, from my mind so I could finish the post.

Obama listening to people in Kentucky, Florida, and Michigan

May 21st, 2008

While Hillary Clinton focuses on staying in the 2008 presidential race as long as possible, meaning as long as she and former president and husband Bill Clinton, can afford to make loans to her campaign, Barack Obama is busy personally answering calls from concerned voters in Kentucky, Florida, and Michigan.

Although votes were counted in Kentucky last night without issue, many people there still have questions about Barack Obama and his intentions, especially as they relate to the Blue Grass state.

The reason behind the long morning commute

April 3rd, 2008

Did you ever wonder if a conspiracy was in place to keep you and the hundreds of others around you each morning on the roadways from getting to work each morning?

Rude awakening

When you’re waking up in the morning, always be sure you know where you’re putting your feet.

Ashley Dupre, NY Guv’s call girl, needs serious legal help

March 15th, 2008

The attorney for former high-priced Washington, D.C.-based call girl, “Kristen”, seems to have forgotten something he may have learned in law school. Perhaps he didn’t learn it, which is why he’s flapping his gums so much, basically trying to intimidate newspapers and TV news stations.

It seems this attorney, Don D. Buchwald, is trying to say the media has “thrust” — interesting choice of words, especially given his client’s employment history — into the “public glare without her consent.”

A good photo says it all

March 12th, 2008

They say a photo is worth a thousand words. What about photos that express more than words? What about photos that reach down, into the pit of your heart, that grab your emotions, and make you feel joy or happiness?

At least it wasn’t oral sex in the Oval Office …

March 12th, 2008

Disgraced and under-FBI investigation New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, with his wife, Silda, at his side, make a 60 second statement at a pseudo-press conference to “apologize” to his family and the public for his wanton acts of lust.

Sleepy time in the U.S.A.

March 8th, 2008

In moving the clocks ahead one hour, we are effectively losing an hour of sleep. Without proper preparation for the time change, people end up sleepy. In honor of sleepy people, as well as a tribute to our men and women in uniform, here’s a great video.

Letters home from the warfront

March 5th, 2008

A blog full of nothing but letters sent home from the warfront seems to be gaining popularity around the Internet.
