Amy Winehouse and her apparent lack of self-control, responsibility
June 24, 2008 at 8:23 am (EDT)
Poor Amy Winehouse. Her daddy says she has emphysema, but her publicist, you know, the well-paid folks who are responsible for creating and maintaining the public image — a performer’s persona — says that the 24-year-old British singer does not have emphysema, but does have only 70 percent lung capacity, as well as nodules and other issues with her lungs. In essence, 30 percent of Amy Winehouse’s lungs are little more than trash.
What’s Amy Winehouse want from life? Who knows? Who cares? Certainly not me, but it seems her dad does, but then again, most dad’s generally do care, no matter what.
In the case of Amy Winehouse, though, she’s used drugs — including smoking crack cocaine — and now, or, if she continues her path to self-destruction, very soon it will be time to pay the price.
Amy’s father said his singer daughter is constantly surrounded by people who are chronic drug users, then asks, "What kind of chance does that give her for success (in kicking her drug habit)"?
If Amy Winehouse has the drive to kick her habit, she will. If Amy Winehouse does not have the drive, the self-respect, or the motivation within herself, she won’t give up drugs, or, if she does, she will begin using them again quickly.
