After a murder at the mall, Merry Christmas

One dead, three suspects in custody in Christmas Eve shooting

Merry Christmas, folks. To bring that message of love, peace, and joy to your hearts and homes, the television news outlets are leading off with the story of a shooting at the Boynton Beach Mall, located north of Fort Lauderdale.

According to the police, one person is dead, but three others are in police custody after a SWAT team stormed the mall.

At this point, police officials say it is too early to know the motive for the murder, but add that the shooter probably knew the victim. That comment makes me wonder what the other two people in custody were doing. Maybe they were the posse to draw the victim out of the bathroom or something.

For one family this Christmas — and all the rest to come in the future — will be the time to remember the murdered family member. Christmas Eve will be the day to remember as the day the person was gunned down, evidently during last-minute Christmas shopping.
