Last night’s glaring ending to the six-week Pennsylvania primary election was proof enough that Illinois Sen. Barack Hussein Obama never cared about Pennsylvania; intended his inflammatory comments as many around the country interpreted them; and just “wants to get on with the game” of the election.
Here in Philadelphia, as the two early night time local news shows were coming on at 10 p.m., on Fox 29 and well, you might as well call it the “practice run” for NBC 10, since they produce the news and do all the reporting for “the other 10 p.m. news”, it was evident Barack Obama was getting wiped off the ballot in Pennsylvania. He probably knew it early on, too, as he opted to head to Indiana for the day, instead of waiting here, in Pennsylvania, which is what the candidates traditionally do during the primaries.
Much like the Iraqi troops that were supposedly working with American troops in Sadr City, Iraqi six days before, on April 16, 2008, Barack Obama took the Iraqi troops’ lead and fled the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He made a speech to the people of Pennsylvania, about the people of Pennsylvania, from the middle of Indiana. Basically, he fled Pennsylvania, just like the Iraqi troops fled from the scene of a battle with insurgents, despite being implored by American troops to hold their positions.
New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton stayed the night in Philadelphia. She went to speak to her supporters around 10:10 p.m., and the speech was carried live on local news outlets. She was welcomed by Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell and Philadelphia Mayor Michael (“Mike”) Nutter.
Barack Obama’s speech was carried live, as well, albeit from Indiana. That closeness at the close of election day, in one of the primaries Obama himself called a “deal breaker,” just gave an ice-cold feeling of distaste running through the veins.
Yes, rather than stay in Pennsylvania and wait for the election results, especially since he was so “committed” to the residents of Pennsylvania, as he said many times during his recent campaign stomps, his true colors were shining brightly last night: he’s a coward. He couldn’t face the inevitable defeat head-on, so he took off and went to Indiana, where he had people cheering him on. For now.
Maybe the voters of Indiana and the rest of the states due to have their presidential primary elections in the next several weeks will see Barack Obama’s true colors before it’s their turn to vote. His actions last night demonstrated he isn’t a leader. He’s a coward, especially when it comes to negative election returns.
Barack Obama’s actions last night spoke louder than words. In fact, the actions resonate a message of how loyal he is to his word, but also about the kind of president he’d make. Is this the kind of president Americans want or need in the White House? Not a chance.
