CBS plans to drop The Unit from Fall schedule?

______________
3:20 p.m. UPDATE: Just after publishing this post, I read on one of the RSS feeds to which I’m subscribe, that [1] The Unit [2] has been renewed.
______________
It seems network television executives have lost some of their collective network brain power and viewer understanding during the writer’s strike last Fall, which lasted into almost early Spring.
I watch very little television, especially network television. When I do watch TV, it’s often to get the headlines from CNN at the top or bottom of the hour, or the local headlines and weather from [3] Philadelphia’s Fox 29, or one of the many "premium" channels, as [4] Comcrap calls them, such as History International, the Military Channel, National Geographic, and other similar channels. I love knowledge, research, and learning, so I am drawn to shows that bring information to the living room.
Some of the shows I do watch, or at least watched prior to the writer’s strike this past Fall, were:
Wow! I guess I’m the guess the networks hate. I don’t watch the shows they wish to push on the American viewing public, such as the ever-stupid [10] Big Brother, [11] Are You Stupider than a Monkey, [12] Phony Survivors, and [13] Lost-and-Found.
One TV show I used to watch, and have watched since it was introduced about three years ago, [5] The Unit, has had its current season halted, and despite pulling in high ratings before the writer’s strike, may be axed by idiots in CBS’ entertainment division.
It seems an [14] online petition has been started in an attempt to "save" The Unit from the proverbial TV show scrap pile. Although I’m not a big fan of online petitions, I’ve seen several TV shows that were "saved" as a result of such actions by viewers. Since I already said I enjoyed the show, I will push others to sign the petition in an attempt to keep the show on-the-air.
Many people, including those currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans, families of military personnel, and others, just everyday Americans who appreciate quality programming that delves into sometimes touchy areas, have enjoyed the show over the past few years. Why not try to save something that’s not a reality show?
While you’re visiting one site with a quasi-focus on the military, why not also visit a second site, as well, though the second site has a distinct military taste all its own. Yes, I’m talking about the new social networking site, hosted by ning, known as [15] Troop Space.
