Nobody would live in England if they had a choice
It’s coming up on Thanksgiving, a time of year when many people rush about, buying turkeys, cranberry sauce, and all the other fixings — or maybe some of the fake/faux turkey, called tofurky, some crazy combination of tofu and turkey (and God only knows what else!).
Many people ponder about the things which they have to be thankful for this year. Some will be thankful for a job, others that they have no lost their home, and others, well, they will be thankful that they’ve not had anyone in uniform knock on their door to offer them the President’s sincerest sympathies and deep regret that a family member gave their life serving in the armed forces of the United States.
Hispanics don’t want immigration laws enforced, study finds
The Pew Hispanic Center, one of the Pew Research organizations, released a report back in September that I just came across as a result of re-reading a quote from back in 2000 from Bill Richardson.
The study, with a summary published on the Pew Hispanic Center’s site under the headline, “Hispanics See Their Situation in U.S. Deteriorating; Oppose Key Immigration Enforcement Measures”, seems to point out, without stating the fact, that the majority of people interviewed for opinions for the study were illegal aliens from Mexico or other Central or South American country.
Navarrette kicks Anti-American sentiment into illegal alien issue
Big mouth Ruben Navarrette, Jr., is once again in full-swing with his anti-American banter, this time by saying, (Americans are) so reluctant to accept any responsibility for illegal immigration — a self-inflicted wound that they bring upon themselves by aggressively hiring illegal immigrants — they can’t wait to pin the blame on Mexico and its leaders.
The problem with this comment is that Navarrette is seemingly accusing every American, or the majority of Americans, of personally hiring illegal Mexican immigrants. The fact is: illegal aliens come to the U.S., often buy forged documents, such as phony Social Security cards with legitimate Social Security numbers, as well as other forged documents, including driver’s licenses, and try to mix into American society.
Obama, Obama, Osama, Obama. Oops.
Barack Obama has one of those names that just doesn’t roll off my tongue. No amount of practice will make that happen, it seems. In an effort to try to make his name one of those “one the tip of my tongue” names, I even tried using the tune from Louie Louie, a classic rock ‘n’ roll song, written in ’55 by Chuck Berry, singing, “Obama, Obama,” but what happened next, most likely predictable, especially in this day and age, things changed.
As I sang the self-created lyrics in an effort to get Obama’s name a familiar roll on my tongue, the words, “Obama, Obama … yeah, Obama, Obama” became, eerily enough, “Obama, Obama … Osama, Obama.” <add Family Feud buzzer tone now>
Come to the U.S. legally and have no worries …
It’s scary to think I might ever agree with a talk show commentator. What’s scarier, in fact, is that I find myself actually in that position today, agreeing with Carlson Tucker, a commentator for Fox News. If you wish to read the full story, it’s available at Illegal immigrants sue Wendy’s - Tucker - MSNBC.com.< !—Waitini Taitsa Cherokee Fighting Tiger—>
I find it inconceivable that anyone would believe Wendy’s has any obligation to an illegal alien.
