Poem ponders America under Barack Obama

One month from today, it’s projected that more than a million people will be converging onto the Mall in Washington, D.C. to “take part” — from afar, but in the same small district in the United States — where the 44h President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, will be inaugurated.

That’s right, one month (30 days) from today — January 20, 2009 at noon — Obama will become the president of the free world. For that event, even in a lousy economy and in fear of job loss, people are willing to pony up hundreds, and many people, thousands of dollars for “choice location” on the Mall. To be honest, the only prime location is within 75 to 100 feet of the inaugural ceremony itself. Anything further, well, stay home and watch it on television.

Beta testing bitter taste and resentment

It’s no secret to many people who know me that I’m active alpha- (or pre-beta, as some tests call it) and beta-test participant. In fact, I love beta testing for many reasons, and for almost 20 years now, I’ve been beta testing.

Today, though, has brought about thoughts and resentment in me that, well, has me ticked off. In fact, that’s putting it very mildly.
