Firefox add-on site isn’t senile

On July 25, in a post titled, [1] Has the Firefox Add-on site become senile?, I pointed out how the [2] Firefox add-on site seemed to be suffering some form of indigestion, but, perhaps more serious, senile dementia.

Since it’s seemingly impossible for computers to develop organism-based health disorders (at least as far as we know — machines haven’t yet taken over — the problem had to be on the part of those responsible for maintaining the site.

When I made the [1] original post, two days ago, I commented that the day for every add-on listed on the site displayed the same creation date: November 30, 1999.

In reply to that post, [3] Mike123 replied, pointing out that the [4] Firefox [2] add-on site is maintained separately from the actual Mozilla Firefox site.

While browsing the [4] Firefox [2] add-on site today, I noticed the problem appears is fixed. Since I didn’t develop any of the plugins, I can’t say for certainty all the dates are now correct, but at least the dates being displayed are a little more plausible, such as showing a creation (or perhaps upload) date of July 25, 2007 for [5] Chris Lu’s [6] FoxSaver (v.1.3.1).

I can’t take all the credit for getting the site fixed, but I am glad to see the site is finally displaying seemingly correct or more-up-to-date information for the various plugins available.
