Nero 8 is finally here!

In case I’ve not made myself clear in the past about my need for the latest and great, let me clarify: I love new toys, tools, gadgets, and gizmos. I love alpha- and beta-testing, mostly because I get to play with new hardware, software, gadgets, accessories, and such before they are on the market, but more because I love new advances in technology.

I’ve been burning CDs for many years, whether to burn custom mix music CDs or backing up data. Sometimes it was to share freeware tools with others, to send files and tools to others, or any number of other uses. Let’s not forget about making videos, either. A few weeks ago, Nero sent an email to its customers, announcing the new version, which was finally released on October 1. To me, it was overdue for a new version.

Nero 8 Ultra Edition ENHANCED provides you with ONE solution to complete all your digital media tasks on your PC and on your TV.

Nero 8 Ultra Edition has updated features of some of the standard features I’ve come so used to using, but it’s also added some additional tools, and also kicked up its capabilities a few notches.

Nero 8 lets you add an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 into your setup, whether your home, office, media central/jam room or office, so you can stream High Definition video content and surround sound audio files and enjoy the comfort the pleasure.

If you’re like me, you do backups of all your data. Actually, I do several daily backups of my drives — all of them — to external hard drives and other storage locations. I also have some files and directories backed up individually. Everything has its own purpose.

For most people, my solution would be overkill. Using Nero 8 Ultra Edition, the average computer user, and many small business owners, won’t have to sweat about losing key data, files, or the drive, should anything happen. Nero 8 Ultra Edition let’s you back up files, folders, or directories simply and easily. If there’s a problem with the backup and it couldn’t be created, the program will send you an email to warn you things went south on the backup.

Another cool feature of Nero 8 Ultra Edition is that you can have the backups automatically burn to media, such as CD or DVD. You can then quickly — and easily (the thing most people are worried about when they hear "backups") recover your photos, music, downloaded and purchased mp3 collection, business information, letters, other data, or anything else on your computer quickly and easily and create. The really cool thing is that the discs — CD or DVD — can be password protected, too. That’s a big issue for me. Nothing I backup is ever backed up in its normal format. If anyone is ever going to access that information, data, photos, or whatever, they will have to have a password to SecurDisc technology gives you peace of mind.
